In this virtual experience, students will…

  • Evaluate the significance of mountain ecosystems and their role in maintaining the biodiversity of the planet, by researching and comparing the flora and fauna of different mountain ranges.
  • Investigate the cultural significance of mountains in different societies by examining how they are viewed in art, literature, and religion.

Lesson overview

Although most of the world’s tallest mountains are in Asia-in particular Central Asia where China, Nepal, Tibet, India, and Pakistan share borders-all of the continents have great peaks. In this virtual experience, you will visit several mountains around the world.
